Uniforms (DoBoks) must be clean and presentable for the Testing.  Wash in Cold water, Do NOT use Bleach.  Each Student must practice clean hygiene and look presentable at each testing event.  Long Hair must be pulled back or styled away from any student's face.  No jewelry, including watches, bracelets and No hoop style ear rings or piercings in open areas of the face are NOT PERMITTED for any student participating in class or for any martial art event, such as testing, due to safety reasons.

TANG SOO DO CONCEPTS TRADITIONAL BELT RANKINGS

Each individual Student's abilities and training schedules vary from one to another, so there is no set time in which a student becomes an "expert".  Most students, however, do begin to feel comfortable with their martial arts skills around the green belt level or after a year of training.  Tang Soo Do Concepts Instructors are trained to recognize a student's skills and adjust to each individual's training level.  Martial arts training is a stair step process that allows students to feel comfortable with what they know and learn before proceeding to more difficult techniques.  This is an approach that makes the Tang Soo Do learning ethic of Martial Arts one of the best and safest physical activities a person can achieve.  This learning process will help an individual student gradually learn self-defense while gaining knowledge in the beauty of the Martial Arts.  Every Student in the Martial Art of Tang Soo Do will test for the next rank in three month intervals during the year, until each individual student reaches their desired level of ranking without any further commitment.  It will be solely up to the individual to continue their education in Tang Soo do to achieve a higher level of ranking upon return, but retesting will be required as proof of their current belt level status to continue on to a higher level of belt ranking.  Each individual Tang Soo Do student merely "Earns" the next level of belt ranking.

9th Gup - Beginner White Belt 

8th Gup - Orange Belt – 3 months 

7th Gup - Orange Belt one Stripe – 6 months 

6th Gup - Green Belt – 9 months 

5th Gup – Green Belt one Stripe – 1 year 

4th Gup – Green Belt two Stripes – 1 year 3 months 

3rd Gup – Red Belt – 1 year 6 months 

2nd Gup – Red Belt one Stripe – 1 year 9 months 

1st Gup – Red Belt two Stripes – 2 years 

Dan - Black or Midnight Blue Belt – 2 years 3 months 

1st Dan – Black or Midnight Blue Belt one stripe – 3 years 

2nd Dan – Black or Midnight Blue Belt two stripes – 5 years 

3rd Dan – Black or Midnight Blue Belt three Stripes – 8 years
